Tim Palmer
ILF farmer partner Tim Palmer began farming with his dad and has continued to do so for the past 40 years. Palmer grows corn, soybeans, oats and hay on his farm near Truro in Madison County. He also raises beef cattle to market.
On his farm, Palmer has terraces, waterways, filter strips, ponds and uses rotational grazing. He starting using these conservation methods as a way to increase efficiency, to protect soil on his farm, and effect movement to rivers and streams.
Palmer and his wife, Rachelle, have three children: Grey, Geoff and Katherine. He is involved in his community as a member of the Madison County Farm Bureau board, Cattlemen's Association, Truro Betterment committee, Madison County Soil and Water Conservation District commissioner and the UCC church. He was elected as the First Vice President for the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) in 2017 and then served as President.
